What Will Delight the Capital This December: A Venetian Carousel, Santa Claus’s Residence, and a Winter Market in Minsk

What Will Delight the Capital This December: A Venetian Carousel, Santa Claus’s Residence, and a Winter Market in Minsk

November 18, 2024

Minsk begins preparations for the winter holidays, transforming into a real New Year's fairy tale. In December, the capital will be adorned with over 210 light figures, a grand Christmas tree, and a genuine Venetian carousel, which will become the main attraction of the festive events. The carousel is promised to be accessible to everyone — rides will be free of charge.

Main Events on the “Best Street”

On December 21 and 22, a winter festival will take place at the venue “Best Street”, creating a true urban picnic in a New Year’s format. A market will open here with thematic treats, including traditional Olivier salad.

Festival Attractions:

  • Santa Claus’s Residence — a place where children and adults can meet the wizard and make wishes.
  • New Year’s Post, where you can send festive postcards to loved ones.
  • Christmas Market offering gifts, decorations, and handmade items. Free gift wrapping will be a pleasant bonus.
  • Christmas Tree Bazaar, where you can buy a live tree and get care tips for it.
  • Outdoor Cinema showing beloved New Year’s movies.

Atmosphere and Entertainment

The organizers have ensured comfort for all visitors. Some locations will be set in warm spaces, including zones for children with themed games and animations. On open areas, guests can enjoy Christmas treats and hot drinks. The festival will be open from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with musical performances planned during evening hours.

Festival Highlights:

  • Free rides on the Venetian carousel.
  • Cozy winter bars with warm drinks.
  • Themed workshops and festive cuisine from Minsk’s best restaurants.
Residents and visitors of Minsk will have the opportunity to enjoy the holiday atmosphere, take beautiful photos near the tree and carousel, and spend time with family and friends.
