In the Belarusian capital, the official swimming season for 2025 has officially begun. A special expert commission under the leadership of Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Oleg Korzun conducted a large-scale inspection of all the city’s beach zones, determining the most comfortable and safe places for summer recreation of residents.
Comprehensive Assessment of Beach Infrastructure
The procedure for assessing beaches in Minsk is conducted annually and includes a detailed analysis based on ten key criteria. The expert commission pays special attention not only to aesthetic aspects but also to practical issues of safety and convenience for vacationers.
Among the main evaluation parameters are the originality of the territory’s design, the overall cleanliness of the beach area, the presence of modern small architectural forms, and the introduction of technical innovations. The commission also checks the organization of physical culture and recreational activities, which highlights a comprehensive approach to the development of beach infrastructure.
Safety as a Priority
Special attention during the inspection is paid to the safety of vacationers. The commission thoroughly checks for the presence of special enclosures for children’s swimming areas, ensuring safe swimming for the youngest visitors. An important evaluation element is the presence of playgrounds and areas for active recreation, creating comfortable conditions for family leisure time.
The safety system on Minsk beaches operates at a professional level. The Chairman of the Minsk City Branch of OSVOD Dmitriy Matyushko notes that safety is ensured by eight permanent rescue stations. During the official swimming season, which runs from May 1 to September 30, an additional twenty seasonal rescue posts are in operation.
Large-Scale Preparatory Work
Preparations for the 2025 beach season were carried out over several months. The Director of the Minsk Forestry and Park Management Pavel Bogdanchik reported that the beach development program was fully completed. Within the framework of preparatory work, a major overhaul of access roads and parking areas was carried out, and additional gazebos, sunbeds, podiums, and shade canopies were installed.
The scale of the work done is impressive. By the start of the new season, more than two thousand sunbeds and one hundred fifty gazebos were manufactured. The shoreline of the beaches was additionally replenished with sand to create more comfortable conditions for recreation. Special attention was paid to the creation of sports infrastructure – volleyball courts and a beach soccer field were equipped.
Environmental Preparation of the Territories
An important aspect of the preparations for the season was the comprehensive cleaning of beach territories. All beaches, including the shoreline and water areas, were thoroughly cleaned of garbage and pollutants. Maintenance work to keep them clean will continue throughout the season at least once a month, and more often if necessary.
Particular attention was paid to cleaning the bottoms of the bodies of water, which ensures safe swimming without the risk of injuries. This approach demonstrates the city authorities’ serious commitment to creating a comfortable and safe environment for residents’ recreation.
Ranking of the Best Beaches in Minsk 2025
Based on the results of the comprehensive assessment, the expert commission identified the top three among the twenty-three official beaches of the capital.
First place was rightfully awarded to
Beach Number Five on the “Drozdy” Reservoir, which is under the jurisdiction of the Moskovsky District. This beach demonstrated the highest level of amenities and comfort for vacationers, combining excellent infrastructure with high safety standards.
Second place was taken by Beach Number Six on the Zaslavsky Reservoir, for which the Zavodsky District is responsible. This recreation area is distinguished by its thoughtful layout and high-quality service for visitors.
Third place also went to a beach on the Zaslavsky Reservoir – Beach Number Nine, overseen by the Pervomaysky District. All three winners demonstrated a high level of preparation and readiness to welcome vacationers in comfortable and safe conditions.
Development of Commercial Infrastructure
An important evaluation criterion was the operation of commercial outlets on beach territories. The commission checked not only the presence of trade pavilions but also their operating hours. Special attention was paid to ensuring that commercial points operated not only on weekends but also on weekdays, providing constant access to goods and services for vacationers.
This approach contributes to the creation of a full-fledged recreational environment where visitors can not only relax by the water but also purchase necessary items without leaving the beach area.
Positive Development Dynamics
Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Oleg Korzun noted a significant improvement in the quality of beach infrastructure in recent years. According to him, the work on the improvement of recreational zones in the city is systematic in nature and deserves a high rating. The beaches of Minsk become more comfortable and attractive for vacationers every year.
This positive dynamic is also noticed by the residents themselves. During the commission’s inspection, vacationers highly praised the created conditions and expressed satisfaction with the quality of beach services in the capital.
Encouraging District-Level Initiatives
The annual competition for the title of the best beach in the capital has become an effective tool for motivating district administrations. The competitive element encourages the responsible services to show more initiative and creativity in preparing recreational spots, which positively affects the overall level of the city’s beach infrastructure.
This approach contributes not only to improving the quality of existing beaches but also to the implementation of innovative solutions in organizing residents’ recreation.
Prospects for the Development of Beach Recreation
The successful start of the 2025 beach season in Minsk demonstrates the effectiveness of a systematic approach to the development of recreational infrastructure. The comprehensive assessment, which includes criteria for safety, comfort, and aesthetics, makes it possible to maintain high quality standards of beach recreation in the Belarusian capital.
Twenty-three official beaches in the city are ready to welcome vacationers throughout the entire swimming season, offering various opportunities for family recreation, active entertainment, and relaxation by the water. Continuous improvement of infrastructure and high service standards make Minsk’s beaches an attractive place for summer recreation for both residents of the capital and visitors to the city.
