Antonovsky Park

Antonovsky Park

2 min. to read

Antonovsky Park is one of the oldest parks in Minsk, located on the border of the Partizansky and Leninsky districts. This green space was founded in 1928 and was named in honor of Archbishop Antoniy Zubko, who established his country residence here in the 19th century. At that time, the area was called Antonovo, and it wasn't until 2006 that the park was officially named Antonovsky. The park is known for its unique atmosphere, where nature harmoniously coexists with urban landscapes. Picturesque waterfalls, sprawling willows, and shady alleys create a cozy place for walks and relaxation. Antonovsky Park is part of the Slepian water system, adding to its special charm. Many Minsk residents enjoy spending time here—some ride bicycles, others practice Nordic walking, and some simply come to stroll with their children or fish. The park's water bodies are home to crucian carp, roach, and even pike, and on hot days, some daring souls decide to swim in the water of the Slepian Canal. The park also holds interesting historical moments. For example, there is a hill in the park under which the Minsk Metro tunnel runs, connecting the "Traktorny Zavod" and "Proletarskaya" stations. In 2018, the park introduced the "Avenue of Newlyweds" and the "Reconciliation Bench," which has made it especially popular among couples. Antonovsky Park is a peaceful natural haven in the center of Minsk, remaining a beloved spot for relaxation and walks.
