Park of History Sula

Park of History Sula

Park-Museum "Sula" is a unique complex that offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of Belarus. It is located on the site of the once-famous Radziwill estate and is the first park in the country that combines interactive exhibits and educational programs. Here, guests can see how their ancestors lived, from ordinary people to nobility, and learn about the culture and traditions that have developed over the centuries.

Historical Reference

Sula was founded in 2012 after a long process of restoring the abandoned estate. Initially, it was the territory belonging to the Radziwill family, but later it was bought by the Lenskie family. The estate, built in the 18th century, gradually fell into disrepair until its reconstruction began in the early 2000s. Under the leadership of Andrey Zapolsky, the founder of the park, the restoration work lasted eight years, and finally, in 2012, Sula opened its doors to the first visitors.

Structure of the Complex

The park is divided into seven separate zones, each dedicated to a specific period of Belarusian history. The main path of the park leads guests in chronological order, starting from the Stone Age and ending with the Lenskie family estate.
  • Zone of the Ancient Man: Here, visitors are greeted by cromlechs—ancient structures made of vertically installed stones. There are twelve of them in the complex, and they are placed at equal distances from each other, creating the atmosphere of an open-air temple under the stars. There is also an alley of megaliths and an ancient man's camp.
  • Territory of Ancient Belarusian Cults and Beliefs: In this zone, there is a pagan shrine, a pantheon of ancient gods, and the House of the Witch on chicken legs. Here, you will meet a live witch who will tell her stories, and you can also touch the prophetic stone, weighing more than 50 tons, which is said to grant wishes.
  • Viking Era Lands: In the Viking village, one of the park's main attractions is a replica of a Scandinavian ship, a drakkar. Guests can ride this ship, making the experience especially memorable.
  • The Middle Ages and Nobility: Here, you can visit the pottery museum, see ancient castles (Mindaugas and Zapolsky), and learn how the first metal products were forged. This zone also includes a museum-stable and a royal assembly.
  • Belarusian Town: This zone is full of various places such as a bakery, pharmacy "Zyolki", bread and cheese museum, and a Jewish shop. Here, you can try fresh products and buy local delicacies.
  • The Lenskie Manor-Park Complex: The final part of the park includes a Masonic wing, the Lenskie family estate museum, and the "Holy Family" chapel.

Leisure and Comfort

The park offers a variety of leisure options. There is a beach area with gazebos, children's playgrounds, and a grill area where the barbecue is open on weekends. Guests can also dine at the on-site restaurants, or if they prefer, they can bring their own food.

Tours and Events

"Sula" offers tours that cover key moments in history. Visitors can enjoy performances, master classes in traditional crafts, and take part in various interactive activities. Children can play on specialized playgrounds, and pony rides are available for the little ones.

How to Get There

The park is located 60 km from Minsk and is accessible by both car and public transportation. For those who decide to drive, there are two routes: via the Minsk-Brest (M1) or Minsk-Grodno (M6) highway. There are also special buses that depart from the Malinovka metro station in Minsk.

Opening Hours and Costs

The park is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:30, and the restaurants are open until 19:00 on weekdays and 21:00 on weekends. Entrance tickets cost 35 Belarusian rubles for adults (Instagram followers of the park receive a 5 ruble discount) and 15 rubles for school-aged children. Entry is free for children under 7, veterans, and people with disabilities. Payment is only accepted in cash.

Conclusion

Park-Museum of History "Sula" is a place where history comes alive. Here, you can not only see reconstructions of historical buildings and monuments but also become part of this world by interacting with the culture and traditions of Belarus. Sula offers a unique experience that will leave unforgettable memories and help establish a connection with the country's past.
