Renovated 50th Anniversary of the Great October Park: New Recreation Areas and Sports Facilities

Renovated 50th Anniversary of the Great October Park: New Recreation Areas and Sports Facilities

November 18, 2024

Minsk continues to delight its residents with renovated parks and squares. In the Zavodskoy district, a large-scale reconstruction of one of the capital's largest green areas — 50th Anniversary of the Great October Park — has been completed. The work lasted just over a year, and now the area has been transformed beyond recognition.

What's Changed?

All outdated facilities were dismantled and replaced with modern zones serving different purposes. City authorities paid special attention to sports and wellness facilities to create comfortable conditions for active recreation. The park now offers:
  • A skate park for extreme sports enthusiasts;
  • Volleyball and mini-football courts;
  • Workout zones with pull-up bars and exercise equipment;
  • Outdoor fitness machines in convenient locations.
These amenities promise to be popular among residents and visitors, especially during the warmer months. For the youngest visitors, a bright play complex has been installed, and for their parents, cozy seating areas with comfortable benches are available.

Improved Infrastructure

The entrance area has also undergone significant changes. Visitors are now greeted by modern information boards with up-to-date details about the park and a detailed map of the area. This makes navigating the park much easier, especially for first-time visitors.

The Significance of the Park

The 50th Anniversary of the Great October Park is the second-largest in Minsk, surpassed only by Victory Park. The legendary "Tractor" stadium is located within its territory, and nearby, the construction of the National Football Stadium, a "gift" to Belarus from China, is nearing completion. The park was established decades ago as a recreational area for residents, and today it is regaining its importance thanks to its updated infrastructure.

The New Life of Minsk's Parks

The reconstruction of the 50th Anniversary of the Great October Park is part of a citywide program to improve recreational areas. This year, 18 new recreational spaces have appeared in the capital. The total now stands at 63, making Minsk one of the greenest cities in the region. The renovated park is set to become a hub for sports enthusiasts, family outings, and those who value modern infrastructure combined with nature.
