The Children's Railway in Minsk, known among railway workers as the "Little Belarusian," is a unique place where children can feel like real railway workers. Since its opening on July 9, 1955, this railway has provided young Minsk residents and their parents with the opportunity to enjoy an exciting journey through the picturesque surroundings of the capital.

Main Features

The children's railway stretches for 4.5 kilometers, with a track gauge of 750 mm, which is almost half that of standard railways. The main route, 3.79 km long, passes through two stations: "Zaslonovo" and "Pionerskaya," as well as one stop—"Sosnovy Bor." At the "Zaslonovo" station, which is the starting and ending point of the route, passengers can board and alight from trains operated by schoolchildren. The "Pionerskaya" station serves as a technical center, where rolling stock maintenance and locomotive equipping take place. The "Sosnovy Bor" stop is a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air.

Unique Experience

Trains depart every half hour from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing family groups to plan their time with maximum convenience. The carriages are designed for children and small adults, and on hot days, it can get a bit stuffy inside. Tickets cost 4 Belarusian rubles and are required for all passengers starting from one year old.

Education and Professional Training

The children's railway not only provides entertainment but also fulfills an important educational function. Here, schoolchildren become train drivers, conductors, and dispatchers, helping them develop teamwork skills and responsibility. By participating in the life of the "Little Belarusian," children learn to operate trains and take care of the area, gaining invaluable experience that may benefit them in the future.

Accessibility and Transport

The children's railway is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest metro station is "Moskovskaya," and you can also take buses No. 91 and 100 or minivans No. 1002, 1064, 1119, 1280, and 1547. This makes visiting the children's railway convenient and accessible for everyone interested.

Natural Environment and Atmosphere

The nature surrounding the railway creates a magical atmosphere, perfect for family walks. If you want to feel nostalgic and become a child again, be sure to visit the Minsk Children's Railway. The station building pleases the eye with its architecture, and the enthusiastic young workers make every trip unforgettable.

Conclusion

The Children's Railway in Minsk is not just an attraction but a whole world where children can learn and have fun. The unique combination of education and entertainment makes this place a must-visit.
