Muravitskie Hills Park in Minsk: New Opportunities for Relaxation and Active Leisure

Muravitskie Hills Park in Minsk: New Opportunities for Relaxation and Active Leisure

November 12, 2024,3 min. to read

In Minsk, the improvement of the new Muravitskie Hills Park continues, which will soon appear in the Malinovka area, between Slobodskaya, Gromova, and Yesenina Streets. This will be a unique green space with innovative landscape design, which has already generated significant interest among the city’s residents. Currently, the area of the ravine is an uninhabited area, but active construction will begin here soon. As part of the project, a multi-tiered hill 12 meters high will be created with a convenient observation platform, offering a picturesque view of the surroundings. The hill will be a multifunctional facility: in summer, people can enjoy the views, while in winter, it will be used for sledding. Special attention is given to the creation of various areas for relaxation and active leisure. The park will feature a dance floor with a mirrored screen, an open-air cinema, and spaces for seasonal trade. A bicycle path more than 1.7 km long will connect the Malinovka-6 and Malinovka-7 neighborhoods for cyclists and roller skaters. In addition, there will be sports and children’s playgrounds, gazebos for quiet relaxation, and a skate park. Architects also propose creating special areas for street art, where young artists can draw graffiti and create murals. It is planned that in the future, the park will also have zones for winter sports, including ski tracks. All work is expected to begin in 2024 after the ravine filling stage and infrastructure preparation are completed. Interestingly, the name of the new park is connected not only to its terrain but also to the history of the area. In the past, there was a forest here, where the forester Muravitsky worked, whose good deeds became the foundation for the creation of legends. Now, Muravitsky’s name will be immortalized in the name of the new park. Thus, the Muravitskie Hills Park will become an important part of the city’s infrastructure, offering Minsk residents a comfortable place for rest, active leisure, and connection with nature.
