New Year Holidays in Every District of Minsk: A Complete Guide for the Whole Family
The capital of Belarus is preparing a rich festive program for residents and guests of the city. From late December to mid-January, Minsk residents can enjoy dozens of events — from interactive shows for children to Christmas balls for the older generation. Venues across the city will offer entertainment for every taste.
Citywide New Year Events in Minsk
Festive Program for Children and Youth
Until January 14, young residents of Minsk can visit the interactive venue “Grandfather Frost’s Village” at the shopping center “Pershy Natsyyanalny Handlyovy Dom.” At the same time, until January 15, the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth is hosting the citywide event “A Holiday for Everyone” featuring theatrical programs.
Fans of unusual performances can enjoy the show “Loshitsa New Year Fairy Tales” at 17 Chizhevskikh Street. The program will take place twice: on December 27 and January 3 from 18:00 to 20:00.
Christmas Fairs and Holiday Markets
The traditional Christmas fair “Kalyadny Kirmash” will be held near the Sports Palace and will operate until January 11. Visitors will be able to purchase unique gifts, handmade souvenirs, and enjoy the atmosphere of Belarusian Christmas.
Charity New Year Events
On December 23, a charity New Year performance for children will take place with the participation of the leadership of the Minsk City Executive Committee at the Belarusian State Circus. On the same day at 18:30, the campaign “From the Bottom of Our Hearts” will begin at “Minskconcert.”
New Year Program Near the Sports Palace
The city’s main festive venue will be located near the Sports Palace. From December 25 to January 4, twice a day — at 17:30 and 20:00 — visitors can watch the performance “Secrets of New Year Mood” in the Upper Town.
For young viewers, the fairy tale “The Mystery of the New Year Card” has been prepared. It will be shown from December 25 to January 7 at 19:00 at the venue near the Sports Palace. The performance refers to the traditions of Soviet New Year postcards with their special warmth and sincerity.
From December 26 to January 6, guests will be able to take part in the interactive program “New Year Fair of Wonders”. On December 25, the traditional celebration “Svyatki-Kalyadki” will take place.

On December 23, the Belarusian State Choreographic Gymnasium-College will present a festive concert. On the same day at 12:00, the annual festive concert for children with disabilities will take place at the City Children’s Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital.
At the Center for Technical and Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth “Zorka,” the performance “The Snow Queen” will be shown for children from orphanage No. 5 and the Social and Pedagogical Center with a shelter of the Frunzensky District, with the participation of deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
At 11:00, secondary school No. 199 will present the fairy-tale performance “The Twelve Months” for children in socially dangerous situations and those raised in single-parent families.

From January 3 to 15, the district will host charity events “Giving Kindness at Christmas” for children raised in family-type orphanages.

On December 23, the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Central District will host a creative evening based on the film “Charodei”, as well as the theatrical performance “Fairy-Tale Adventures by the New Year Tree.”
On December 24, the Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth “Kontakt” will present the performance “Galloping into the New Year”.
On January 1 from 01:00 to 02:30, a New Year celebration will take place at the venue near the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth for district residents.

Safety Measures at New Year Events
Enhanced Police Duty
The Minsk police will ensure increased security measures during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Law enforcement officers will serve in an enhanced mode, monitoring all places of mass gatherings.
Security of Religious Events
All locations of Christmas services on December 24 and 25, as well as January 6 and 7, including adjacent territories, will be placed under special protection.
Access Control Points Near the Sports Palace
On New Year’s night and January 1, access control points with personal inspection of citizens and their belongings will be organized near the Sports Palace. Separate access points in tents with orange canopies will be provided for World War II veterans, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and citizens with young children.
Access Restrictions to Events
Persons under the influence of alcohol, as well as citizens with prohibited items and pets, will not be admitted to festive events. This is necessary to ensure the safety of all participants.
Transport Restrictions
Near the venues of mass events, traffic will be restricted, and surface public transport routes will be temporarily changed.
Security Monitoring System
Mass event locations will be monitored using the national public safety monitoring system.
Law enforcement agencies urge Minsk residents and guests of the capital to be understanding of the security measures. If unattended items or suspicious persons are discovered, it is necessary to immediately report this to police officers.
Public Transport Operation on New Year’s Night
For the comfortable return of citizens home after the celebrations, city transport will operate on a special schedule. The metro will extend its operation until 4:00 on New Year’s night, and surface public transport will run until 5:00 in the morning.
This schedule will allow all participants of New Year events to safely get home after the end of festive programs at district venues and near the Sports Palace.
