Military Cemetery in Minsk, located in the city center, near Victory Square, is one of the most famous historical necropolises in Belarus. In addition, the cemetery became the final resting place for more than 500 soldiers who died during the liberation of Minsk from the Nazis in 1944. The military history of the cemetery continued after World War II, with heroes of various military conflicts buried here, including Colonel General Nikandr Chibisov, a Hero of the Soviet Union, renowned for his participation in the battles for Kiev and the liberation of Belarus.
