The authorities of Minsk are revisiting their approaches to the construction of social infrastructure objects, focusing on the rational use of funds and the real need for new institutions. This was reported by the chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, who emphasized that in the context of the need for savings, it is important to build quickly, efficiently, and only what is really necessary.
A key factor in decisions regarding the construction of new schools and kindergartens is their future occupancy. To avoid the appearance of unnecessary facilities, city authorities closely cooperate with the Minsk region, optimizing the distribution of students and organizing transportation of schoolchildren from nearby settlements to Minsk. This approach helps avoid excessive construction and more effectively utilizes existing educational institutions.
Such a practice is also applied within Minsk itself. According to Vladimir Kukharev, three years ago, a review of the programs for the construction of kindergartens and schools was carried out, resulting in the reduction of 14 projects. The decision to abandon their construction was based on the analysis of the walking accessibility of existing institutions and a demographic forecast.
As a successful example of optimization, Kukharev cited the "Minsk-Mir" neighborhood, where, according to him, the existing schools and kindergartens are fully loaded. Meanwhile, the investor continues to build another school, which will meet the growing needs of the neighborhood's residents.
In 2025, the construction and commissioning of a number of important social facilities in Minsk will continue:
- Two new schools in "Minsk-Mir": will provide the growing neighborhood with the necessary educational spaces.
- School in the Sokol district: construction completion is planned for this year.
- School in Borovlyany: will open its doors to students in 2025.
- Kindergartens: will appear in the Vostochny settlement, along Independence Avenue, and on Taezhnaya Street.
- Two children's polyclinics: in Loshitsa and "Minsk-Mir".
- Two multi-profile adult polyclinics: in "Minsk-Mir" and the Vostochny settlement.
Thus, the authorities of Minsk aim for a balanced development of social infrastructure, considering both current and future needs of the city. The emphasis is on the efficient use of budgetary funds and creating comfortable conditions for residents.
