Minsk 2025: Major Playground Renovation and Urban Beautification

Minsk 2025: Major Playground Renovation and Urban Beautification

March 1,2 min. to read

In 2025, a large-scale program to renovate children’s playgrounds will launch in Minsk, which provides for the replacement of old, worn-out playground equipment with modern and safe structures. According to Anastasiya Vorobyeva, Deputy General Director for the Improvement of the Housing Fund of Minsk, within the framework of the project, about 2.5 thousand units of equipment will be updated, and when dismantling several elements at once, modern playground complexes will be installed.

Renovation and Modernization of Play Areas

The first in line for replacement will be outdated metal slides. This year, the installation of 281 new slides is planned, which will significantly improve safety and comfort for children. When dismantling several elements at once — such as a slide, swings, and a climbing frame — multifunctional playground complexes will be erected in their place. In total, 506 such complexes will be installed in city courtyards using budget funds. “Multifunctional playhouses are in high demand, as they are much more appealing to little ones compared to separate structures,” notes Anastasiya Vorobyeva.

A Comprehensive Range of Improvement Measures

In addition to modernizing play areas, the Minsk beautification program includes other initiatives. Over the course of the year, more than 8,000 trees and 45,000 shrubs are planned to be planted, as well as repairs of over 460,000 square meters of courtyard driveways. Emphasis will be placed on the complete replacement of asphalt-concrete pavements in areas where serious defects have been identified.

Conclusion

The implementation of the project to install new playground complexes will be an important step toward creating a safe and modern urban environment for families with children. Minsk once again confirms its commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens through comprehensive improvement measures and investment projects.
