Residents of the Central District of Minsk can expect significant changes in the coming months: the eco-path along the Svisloch River will be extended, bus stops will be modernized, and the district will become greener and more comfortable. We explain what changes are planned and how they will affect the lives of the residents.
One of the main events will be the completion of the eco-path development along the Svisloch River. In the next three months, a fourth and final section, located near the RNPС “Mother and Child”, will be added to the existing sections. The total length of the route will reach three kilometers, making it even more attractive for walking and cycling enthusiasts.
But the work does not stop there. The already existing sections of the eco-path will also be updated. The staff of “MinskZelentroy” plan to refurbish the pavements, install small architectural structures and statues that will emphasize the historical significance of this area. Interestingly, historical facts associated with these places will be taken into account during the improvements, so that the walks become not only enjoyable but also informative.
New Stops: Comfort for Passengers
Another important change will affect public transportation. In the Central District, bus stops will be modernized: 16 outdated stops will be replaced with modern structures, and the remaining ones will be refurbished. These measures will make waiting for transport more comfortable and pleasant, which is especially relevant for residents and visitors of the capital throughout the year.
Street Repairs: Improving Infrastructure
The district's infrastructure will not be overlooked either. In the coming months, repairs of the street network are planned. The works will affect Internatsionalnaya Street (from the intersection with Lenin Street to Y. Kupala Street) and a section of Masherova Avenue. In total, about ten streets are planned to be improved, which will enhance transport accessibility and safety.
Greening the District: More Nature in the City
The Central District will become noticeably greener thanks to a large-scale greening program. In April, about 25,000 shrubs and 2,000 trees will be planted here. These works will take place not only within the district itself but also along the Minsk Ring Road, improving the ecology and appearance of the city.
In addition, in May, the Minsk International Exhibition Center will open, and a new road will be created for this event, branching off from L. Karastoyanova Street onto the MKAD. The adjoining area will be developed and landscaped, adding comfort and appeal to the district.
Renovation of the Housing Stock: Comfortable Homes for Residents
The housing stock of the Central District is also set for transformation. By the end of June, five buildings, covering a total area of 16,000 square meters, will be put into operation after major repairs. This will improve living conditions for many families. In addition, the municipal services will take care of repairing the building bases, updating playgrounds, and replacing small architectural forms in the courtyards, making them safer and more comfortable.
Conclusion: The Central District is Getting Better
All these changes — from extending the eco-path along the Svisloch to installing new stops and greening — are aimed at making the Central District of Minsk more comfortable, greener, and modern. Residents will be able to enjoy walks along the river, convenient transportation, and an updated urban environment. Stay tuned for updates to learn how these plans are coming to life!
