Each year, parents wonder how much a camp trip will cost and how to organize summer vacations for children, taking into account expenses and state subsidies. In 2025, an attractive pricing model for camp trips has been established in Belarus, which enables quality health-improving vacations for children from various segments of the population, especially for low-income families and socially vulnerable groups.
Pricing Policy and State Support
Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment for the Population, Alexander Tsay, explained that the average cost of a trip to 24-hour, stationary country camps is about 675 rubles. At the same time, in March, a reduction in the trip price by 285 rubles was approved, which corresponds to a discount of 42% from the original price.
At the same time, regulatory requirements stipulate that a parent is required to pay at least 10% of the total sum, which amounts to approximately 70 rubles. The remaining sum may be compensated by local budgets, trade unions, and collective agreements with employers. This approach makes vacations accessible for families needing additional financial support.
Features of Trips and Discount Categories
Two main formats of trips are distinguished:
- 24-hour, stationary camps. The average price is about 675 rubles with a 42% discount, making the vacation affordable through mixed financing.
- Day camps. The average cost is approximately 144 rubles, with an applied discount of up to 120 rubles or 84%, which significantly reduces parents' expenses.
Priority is given to single-parent, low-income, large families, as well as children with disabilities and orphans. For these groups, full or nearly full coverage of expenses is provided through allocated budget funds. This ensures equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their families' economic status.
Health Campaign and Financing
Record funding of over 73 million rubles has been allocated for organizing the children's summer health campaign in 2025. Out of this amount:
- 72 million rubles are directed toward reducing the cost of trips using funds from the republican budget, which allows the vacation cost to be lowered for most families.
- About 800 thousand rubles are earmarked for purchasing free trips for the discount category of children.
- 600 thousand rubles are used for preparing the camps for successful operation during the summer period.
This financial support demonstrates the state’s strategic intent to ensure broad access to health programs and quality vacations, contributing to both the physical and psychological development of children.
Optimal Duration of Stay in Camps
Another important aspect is determining the optimal duration of the vacation. Experts note that the period of stay in children’s camps should be balanced so that children have enough time to adjust to the new environment, and also to fully participate in various health-improving and recreational activities. Various studies and expert opinions indicate that the optimal duration of a camp vacation is between 10 and 14 days, which allows for an intensive program without overload.
Perspectives and Future Plans
Given the successful formation of the pricing model and state support, it can be expected that in 2025 children’s camps in Belarus will become even more accessible and of higher quality for families with children. The diversity of programs, a wide range of recreational and health-improving activities, as well as attention to each child's needs, create a safe and favorable environment for summer vacations.
Moreover, several projects, such as car rallies, hero-city forums, and the expedition "The Unconquered," demonstrate that as part of the large-scale health campaign, active efforts are underway to improve social infrastructure and create additional opportunities for active recreation for children.
Conclusion
The year 2025 will be marked by new standards of quality and accessibility in children’s vacations. Thanks to significant budget injections and the coordinated work of government bodies and social partners, the cost of trips to children’s camps has decreased to an acceptable level, and discount categories of families now have a real opportunity to provide children with a complete and safe summer vacation. This policy promotes the healthy development of the younger generation and lays the foundation for further success in education and health improvement.
