As the winter holidays approach, Minsk is preparing for festive events that have become a tradition for both locals and visitors. This year, the New Year's markets and atmospheric decorations promise to make the winter holidays bright and unforgettable.
Market at the National Library: Magic and Grand Celebrations
From December 20th to January 7th, a grand New Year's market will unfold on the green area between the National Library and the bank of the Svislach River, in the
Writers' Park. This park has become the new location for the winter fairy tale that took place near the Bolshoi Theatre last year. Organizers promise an atmosphere of magic and celebration, with new vibrant accents.
Visitors can expect:
- Free New Year's carousel and mini train
- TV stage with festive shows
- Puppet theatre
- Gift factory
- Fluffy and impressive Christmas tree
Additionally, the market will offer a wide variety of festive foods and drinks to set the New Year's mood. Special attention should be given to the Christmas tree market, where you can buy a New Year's tree for your home.
The market will be open daily:
- From 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekdays
- From 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM on weekends and holidays
It will end on January 7th. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the holiday in the heart of Minsk.
Ice Rink and Photo Zone at Komarovka: A New Winter Spot for Active Leisure and Photos
A New Year's atmosphere has also been prepared at Komarovka for the city's residents and visitors. The central part of the covered market has been transformed into a real winter village, with the main attraction being the decorated Christmas tree and an ice rink, which has already attracted the first active leisure enthusiasts. The rink is located right at the foot of the tree, and judging by the tracks on the ice, both children and adults have already tried it out.
Additionally, an original photo zone styled like a city park has been set up at Komarovka. Here, you can take festive photos against the backdrop of bright decorations and participate in musical events that will be organized later. Komarovka Market is decorated with over 50 New Year’s trees, and a large tree with a huge bow stands at the main entrance, becoming the centerpiece of this winter corner.
The market's festive decorations also include colorful little houses located on the staircases and an inflatable figure of Father Frost, who traditionally welcomes guests. In the market’s cafeteria, there are shaped clocks, which will also become a popular photo spot.
Festive Events for the Whole Family
Both the market at the National Library and the ice rink with a photo zone at Komarovka promise to be bright events of the winter season in Minsk. They offer residents and tourists the chance to not only enjoy the festive atmosphere but also actively spend time outdoors.
