The Ski Season in Belarus is Officially Open: Where to Ski and How Much It Costs?

The Ski Season in Belarus is Officially Open: Where to Ski and How Much It Costs?

December 14, 2024

Winter in Belarus has arrived not only on the calendar but also on the slopes of ski resorts, which have already started welcoming winter sports enthusiasts. Not waiting for nature to provide an natural snow cover, resort workers are actively using snow generators to ensure comfortable skiing. In this article, we will talk about which ski resorts have opened the season, what new offerings they have, and how much it costs to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or tubing.

"Logoysk": season start from December 7

The "Logoysk" ski resort was the first to open its slopes this season. The main slope and the beginner's slope are already available. Additional routes are planned to open in the coming days.

Prices for skiing at "Logoysk":

  • Ski-pass: from 12 rubles for one lift ride to 110 rubles for a daily adult pass. For children, prices range from 6 to 50 rubles.
  • Night skiing: fixed price — 40 rubles.
  • Beginner's slope: from 10 to 30 rubles.
  • Tubing: 4 rubles for one lift ride, or 7 rubles for tubing rental for one hour.
  • Equipment rental:
    • Snowboard: from 10 rubles per hour to 27 rubles per day.
    • Skis: from 8 rubles per hour to 24 rubles per day.
    • Complete ski equipment: from 17 to 50 rubles.
"Logoysk" offers professional instructors for beginners, including lessons for children. This makes the resort an ideal choice for both experienced skiers and those trying winter sports for the first time. More about the resort can be found on the official website: logoisk.by.

"Silichi": long-awaited opening

The season at the "Silichi" ski resort starts on December 13. The third slope, more than 800 meters long, and the beginner's slope are ready for opening. Night skiing is not available yet, but the main slope with a four-chairlift will soon open, along with the tubing slope and other routes.

Prices for skiing at "Silichi":

  • Ski-pass: a seasonal pass costs 1,500 rubles. One-time lifts and hourly rates are comparable to the prices at "Logoysk".
  • Beginner's slope: 13–25 rubles per hour.
  • Cable car lift: 12 rubles for adults, 7 rubles for children.
"Silichi" has updated its infrastructure. This year, a new hotel building has been opened with rooms of various categories, from standard to suite. For the convenience of guests arriving with their own equipment, there are rooms with direct access to the resort's grounds. "Silichi" also offers an aquazone for relaxation, making it an attractive destination not only for tourists from Belarus but also from neighboring countries.

Other resorts prepare for the season

In addition to "Logoysk" and "Silichi", other popular places for skiing are also preparing for the season:
  • "Solnechnaya Dolina" in Minsk
  • "Raubichi"
  • "Yakutskie Gory" in the Dzerzhinsk district
  • "Ruba" in the Vitebsk region
  • The "Mozyr" ski base on the banks of the Pripyat
These centers are finishing slope preparations, waiting for stable frosts. Stay tuned for updates so you don't miss their opening.

How is snow made at the resorts?

For effective snowmaking, the air temperature needs to be around -8°C, which can be a problem with the warm winters that have been typical in Belarus in recent years. Climate change has made snow generators indispensable helpers for Belarusian resorts. For example, in "Silichi," 15 snow cannons work around the clock to create a snow cover. In "Logoysk," the basic slopes were prepared in just five nights thanks to the coordinated efforts of specialists and modern equipment.
Our specialists did the impossible: they prepared the slopes in the shortest time, despite the capricious weather. Now we are ready to welcome guests and ensure comfortable skiing.

— Yegor Yatskevich, head of the sales department at the "Logoysk" ski resort
In "Silichi," the patrol constantly checks the snow depth to ensure the safety of visitors. If the snow layer becomes thinner than the standard, the machinery quickly corrects the deficiency.

What else to do at the resorts besides skiing?

Belarusian ski resorts offer a wide range of additional services. At "Silichi" and "Logoysk," you can take advantage of the following options:
  • Rental of protective equipment, including helmets and goggles.
  • Lessons from professional instructors.
  • Walks on equipped trails.
  • Restaurants and cafes serving traditional Belarusian cuisine.
  • Spas and aquazones for relaxation after an active day.
For families with children, there are play areas, and for groups, there are halls for events.

Why choose Belarusian resorts?

Belarusian ski resorts attract not only locals but also tourists from neighboring countries. Key advantages include:
  • Affordable prices for skiing and equipment rental.
  • Quality infrastructure that meets European standards.
  • Convenient location — most resorts are within an hour's drive from Minsk.
  • Variety of slopes — from beginner's trails to challenging routes for professionals.
The winter season in Belarus has already started, and it is a great opportunity to enjoy active outdoor recreation. Gather your friends or come with your family — Belarusian ski resorts are waiting for you!
