In the very heart of Minsk, right inside a building, a real 10-meter waterfall has appeared! This is not a miracle of nature, but part of the unique exhibition-installation "Sky.River", which opened on April 15, 2025 in the historic Osmolovka district. The creators of the project — Razman Petrosyan and Marina Farmagey, already known to the people of Minsk for their magical "House of Christmas" — transformed the space on Masherova Avenue into an amazing oasis, where a river, waterfall, and modern technologies create an unforgettable atmosphere. Want to know where to find this wonder and what awaits you there? We explain everything in order!
From the "House of Christmas" to "Sky.River": An Evolution of Ideas
If you visited the "House of Christmas" in winter, then you remember hundreds of meters of garlands, gigantic Christmas trees, and a trapeze hanging from the ceiling. Back then, in December 2024, Razman and Marina conceived a new ambitious project. Already during the New Year’s exhibition, while Santa Claus entertained the guests, the idea of "Sky.River" — a space where nature and man become one — was taking shape in their minds.
— The idea of creating a natural oasis emerged already during the "House of Christmas" phase. We wanted to make a place where you can slow down and feel connected to nature, — shares Razman Petrosyan.
After dismantling the New Year’s setup, the team immediately got to work. And then, a few months later, on April 15, 2025, in the same location — in the "House of Experimental Art" on Masherova, 15/1 — "Sky.River" opened.
What is "Sky.River"? Main Features of the Project
"Sky.River" is not just an exhibition, but a living installation covering 2000 square meters, where every element is meticulously planned. Here’s what awaits visitors:
- 10-meter waterfall and river: The main attraction is a raging waterfall pouring from the ceiling, and a real river with swaying boats. For their creation, 400 cubic meters of water are used, which is purified by special filters.
- Interactive zones: Control light with the movement of your hands, create musical symphonies, or peer into a well to receive a glimpse of your future — technology here is at the service of art.
- Zipline and swings: A 100-meter zipline will give you the sensation of flight, and giant suspended swings will be the perfect spot for an Instagram photo.
- Living plants: The space comes alive with 2800 pots of heather, four cut trees, willow, and lilac, all maintained under ultraviolet lamps.
The project's philosophy is simple yet profound: the sky symbolizes lightness and freedom, while the river represents immersion within oneself. It is a place where you can pause and find harmony in the rhythm of urban life.
How Does It Work? The Technical Magic
Creating a river and waterfall inside a building is no easy task. Water is supplied from special reservoirs, and pumping systems ensure its purity. Plants such as willow and lilac are "warmed" under ultraviolet lamps to delight guests with their blooms. Interactive elements — from controlling light to sound installations — make visitors co-creators of the project. In 90 minutes, you can witness the transition from day to night, accompanied by live orchestral music.
What to Do at "Sky.River"?
In addition to the main exhibition, guests can enjoy additional activities:
- Waterfall yoga: Weekly classes are included in the ticket price.
- Gong meditation and qigong: Deep relaxation sessions for 150–190 rubles.
- Social projects: Meetings for mothers of special children and social workers featuring aromatherapy and watercolor master classes.
