Modern Attractions and Park Upgrades Coming to Minsk in 2025

April 15, 2025,5 min. to read

In 2025, residents and visitors of the capital will be able to enjoy the upgrade of the city's leisure zones – eight modern attractions will be unveiled at the Central Children's Park named after Maxim Gorky and at the Culture and Recreation Park named after Chelyuskinets. This news was confirmed at an operational meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee, where Alexander Ermolovich, the General Director of the enterprise "MinskZelenStroy", shared plans for launching the new attractions.

New Opportunities for Recreation

As part of the modernization program for the city parks, 16 new attractions have been implemented over the past two years. In total, 58 attractions have been installed in the popular leisure zones of Minsk – at Gorky Park, Chelyuskinets Park, as well as at the parks named after Hugo Chávez and the 900th Anniversary Park. The Central Children's Park named after Gorky will see the launch of five new attractions, and Chelyuskinets Park will have three, significantly expanding the options for visitors. Favorable weather conditions allow for a forecast that these attractions will begin operations at the end of April. For the convenience of visitors, tickets for the new entertainments will be available at all ticket offices, which will help reduce queues and expedite entry into the park.

Reconstruction and Infrastructure Renewal

In addition to the installation of new attractions, Gorky Park is undergoing a major reconstruction aimed at restoring the historical appearance of the green area. In the near future, work will be completed to bring the commercial facilities into a unified conceptual style. The park will feature 39 trading points, as well as an additional 12 outdoor trading sites for various events. Similar work has already begun in Chelyuskinets Park – its completion is scheduled for May 1. In addition, the management of "MinskZelenStroy" is paying special attention to preparing the beaches for the swimming season. A total of 23 beaches are under maintenance, where repair and cosmetic work are actively being carried out on children's and sports equipment. The plans include the installation of more than 330 new pieces of equipment and the modernization of parking facilities and bike lanes. Special attention will also be given to the completion of the facilities at Beach No. 1 on the Zaslavl Reservoir.

Details on the Attractions' Operating Schedule

The launch of the attractions in Minsk will take place in two phases, due to weather conditions. In Chelyuskinets Park, the Hugo Chávez Park, and the 900th Anniversary Park, the season will open at the end of April, while the carousels in Gorky Park will begin to welcome visitors in May. For the convenience of the citizens, the familiar operating hours are maintained: the attractions will be available from 11:00 to 21:00, with extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays. At the same time, the cost remains affordable – a ride on the carousels will cost on average 5 rubles, making leisure accessible to a wide range of people.

Focus on Ecology and Cleanliness

Along with the update of the entertainment infrastructure, representatives of the Minsk City Executive Committee remind everyone of the need to care for the environment. The preparation of urban areas includes installing additional trash bins in green zones and especially near water bodies, which will help maintain cleanliness throughout the parks and adjoining leisure areas.

Results and Expectations

The upgrade of attractions and the renovation work in the main city parks demonstrate a systematic approach to developing urban infrastructure. The new entertainments, the reconstruction of commercial facilities, and the active upgrade of beach infrastructure make Minsk an even more attractive destination for family recreation and active leisure. Residents and visitors of the capital are eagerly awaiting the start of the season, which promises to bring a host of positive emotions and unforgettable experiences. This large-scale modernization program is an important step in the development of urban infrastructure and reflects the city's commitment to creating comfortable and safe conditions for relaxation for all categories of citizens.
