A new unique space for relaxation will soon appear in Minsk – the ‘Garden of Verses,’ which promises to become a true gem of the Moskovsky district. Located within the boundaries of Alibegova, Lev Sapegi, Yanki Brylya streets, and Dzerzhinsky Avenue, this stylish park will combine nature, culture, and modern design, creating a comfortable zone for all residents and guests of the capital.
A unique site with special challenges
The territory of the future ‘Garden of Verses’ covers 43 hectares and features a complex terrain. Here, under the open sky, high-voltage power lines stretch, underground water supply networks are hidden, and the Myshka stream flows through the site. These features made the project a real challenge for architects, but at the same time inspired the creation of innovative solutions. The result will be not just a green area, but an example of a creative approach to urban environment improvement.
What awaits visitors to the ‘Garden of Verses’?
The central element of the new park will be the Alley of Verses – an unusual tribute to Belarusian literature, where visitors can stroll among poetic lines literally inscribed into the landscape. For those seeking tranquility, there are cozy quiet rest areas, ideal for relaxation in the rhythm of a big city. Fans of an active lifestyle will be delighted with modern sports grounds, and bright children's areas will be arranged for little guests. Special attention is paid to accessibility: the ‘Garden of Verses’ is designed so that people with disabilities can also enjoy it.
When can it be visited?
Work on the project will begin in the second quarter of 2025. The first stage – the entrance group, pedestrian paths, and information stands about Belarusian writers – will be ready by Independence Day. This means that already in the summer, Minsk residents will be able to visit this new corner of relaxation. The full completion of the project is planned in two years, and during this time, the territory will gradually turn into a full-fledged park with many interesting details.
Who is behind the project?
The author of the ‘Garden of Verses’ is young architect Vladislav Kashkovsky, a graduate of the Architectural and Construction College, who currently works as a design technician at ‘Minskproject.’ He first presented his idea at the youth initiatives competition ‘Minskaya Smena’ in 2023. A year later, after refining the project taking into account expert recommendations, Vladislav won, receiving the Grand Prix ‘Minskaya Smena – 2024.’ His talent and desire to combine functionality with aesthetics made the ‘Garden of Verses’ a reality.
A new symbol of Minsk
The ‘Garden of Verses’ is more than just a park. It is a place where nature and culture intertwine, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and comfort. Minsk residents are eagerly awaiting the opening of this recreation area, which promises to become not only a decoration of the Moskovsky district but also an important part of the city’s cultural life. Soon, everyone will be able to stroll along paths inspired by Belarusian poetry and enjoy the new stylish space of the capital!
