Minsk continues to actively develop its sports infrastructure, creating conditions for comfortable and safe sports activities. Soon, next to the
Minsk Arena, an all-season indoor
extreme sports arena will be built. This was announced by the chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, during a meeting with students.
Infrastructure for Extreme Sports Enthusiasts
As Vladimir Kukharev pointed out, extreme sports such as skateboarding, scooter riding, and cycling are popular among young people. To support this interest, the city authorities are designing a modern indoor facility where extreme sports enthusiasts will be able to train in comfortable conditions regardless of the weather. The arena will be the first of its kind in the capital, meeting all safety and convenience requirements.
Design work will begin next year, and the project is planned to be implemented in the next few years. "We see a high interest among Minsk residents in sports, so we are creating modern infrastructure that meets their needs," emphasized Kukharev.
Development of Bicycle Infrastructure
In addition to the extreme sports facility, Minsk is actively developing its cycling infrastructure. The city has already built 293 kilometers of bike paths, and in the coming years, another 85 kilometers will be constructed. The new routes will connect existing bike paths into a single network, allowing residents to comfortably reach any point in the city.
Motovelo Plant: New Opportunities for Cyclists
The city is also completing the reconstruction of the Motovelo plant, which, after modernization, will expand its range of bicycles. This will help meet the growing demand for bicycles among Minsk residents and support the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
Sports for All: New Stadiums and Schools with Swimming Pools
In addition to extreme sports facilities, the construction of sports grounds and football stadiums continues in Minsk. This year, three new football stadiums were opened, and next year, six more are planned. Also, all new schools are being designed with swimming pools, which can be used not only by students but also by residents of nearby areas.
Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment
The new extreme sports facility next to the Minsk Arena will be another step towards creating a comfortable urban environment. It will provide city residents with additional opportunities for active recreation and sports, strengthening Minsk's status as a city focused on a healthy and active lifestyle.
