Starostinskaya Sloboda

2 min. to read

Starostinskaya Sloboda is a cozy park on a hill located in the Central District of Minsk along the Svisloch River. This place is steeped in history: it was once an ancient suburb that existed from the 16th century until the first half of the 20th century. It got its name from the people who bought land from the starosta — the head of the administrative district. The park is perfect for walks at any time of the day. In the morning, it is fresh and quiet, and in the evening, when the lights turn on and the reflections of buildings play in the water, the views become especially beautiful. This place is ideal for leisurely strolls, allowing you to enjoy the atmosphere and nature. In 1999, a monument to Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was erected in the park, which is why it is sometimes called Pushkin Park. However, in 2009, the park was officially named "Starostinskaya Sloboda" to reflect its historical roots. There is everything you need for a pleasant rest: a cozy gazebo where you can sit and relax, smooth paths for walking, jogging, or cycling. You can also rent a pedal boat and ride on the Svisloch River. For children, this place is also interesting — here you can feed ducks and pigeons, who are accustomed to people and are not even afraid when toddlers run after them. Starostinskaya Sloboda Park is a quiet corner in the very center of the city. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city, spend time with family, or arrange a romantic date. This park offers a sense of coziness and tranquility, creating excellent conditions for relaxation and enjoyment of nature.
