New season in Minsk parks promises to be bright and eventful – the capital’s residents and city guests are eagerly awaiting updates in park infrastructure. In this material, we will explain which attractions will appear in Minsk's popular parks, when their opening will take place, and what prices visitors can expect, so that you can plan your leisure activities in advance.
Attraction Updates: What's New in Minsk Parks
With the approach of spring and the start of the vacation season, the "MinskZelenstroy" administration has ramped up its efforts: equipment de-conservation has been carried out, technical preparation of all attractions has been completed, and the necessary inspections have been conducted. To date, the company has 58 attractions distributed among several city parks:
As part of the modernization, two outdated attractions were decommissioned last season – “Swans” in Chelyuskintev Park and “Waltz” in Gorky Park. In their place, new attractions, similar in design and functionality, have already been installed, which will undoubtedly please fans of classic entertainment.
In addition to the updates, guests can look forward to entirely new attractions. In Gorky Park, you will soon be able to try “Dragons” and “Fire Brigade” – a mechanized entertainment option for both children and adults, while Chelyuskintev Park will feature a unique Belarusian-made attraction, “Mix.”
Opening Schedule and Park Operating Hours
The season's opening will occur in two stages, which will allow for an even distribution of visitors and ensure the comfortable use of equipment. According to Ruslan Kosevich, Deputy General Director and Chief Engineer of the "MinskZelenstroy" unit:
- End of April
If the weather is favorable, the first attractions in Chelyuskintev Park, Hugo Chávez Park, and Minsk 900th Anniversary Park will begin operating. This stage will allow guests to enjoy the attractions as early as late spring.
- Beginning of May
The attractions in Gorky Park will open a little later – after the completion of reconstruction work in the park, so that the fully updated complex delights visitors during the active leisure period.
As for the operating hours, they will remain the same:
- Attractions operate from 11:00 to 21:00.
- On Fridays, Saturdays, pre-holiday, and holiday days, the operating hours are extended until 22:00.
- Children’s playgrounds, for example in Gorky Park, open at 10:00 and operate until 21:00.
It is also worth noting the weekend schedule: Gorky, Chelyuskintev, and Hugo Chávez Parks are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, while Minsk 900th Anniversary Park is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. If these days coincide with holidays, the schedule may be adjusted, so visitors are advised to check the latest information on the official website parki.by or directly at the park ticket offices.
Attraction Prices: Stability and Affordability
Another significant plus of the new season is the news of unchanged attraction prices. The average cost of a single ticket will remain at the same level as last year, Br2.5. This means that the updated attractions will delight not only with the quality of entertainment but also with affordable prices for families with children and all residents of Minsk.
Safety and Technical Condition of Attractions
Visitor safety is the top priority. Before attractions are approved for operation, comprehensive technical diagnostics and tests are carried out. It is known that strict industrial safety control for attractions is in place in Belarus: currently, about 180 objects are registered, and this season, for various reasons, some of them will not be launched.
Experts note that although many attractions have already approached the limit of their designated service life, measures for their repair and modernization are planned. According to new legislative provisions, an attraction can be operated for no more than three manufacturer-designated service periods; however, timely repairs allow this period to be extended without compromising safety.
Several incidents in the past, when accidents occurred at entertainment facilities, prompted experts to tighten control and update technical standards. Thanks to a meticulous approach to technical maintenance, today’s attractions meet the highest safety requirements.
Conclusion
In the new season, Minsk parks are preparing a host of surprises: updated and new attractions, a convenient operating schedule, and affordable prices – all designed to provide residents and visitors with unforgettable moments of joy and fun. We recommend keeping an eye on updates on the official website and planning your weekends according to the convenient park schedules.
