Technical features and route

The cable car has three stations, each a modern complex. The Upper station “Vorobyovy Gory” is located next to the famous observation deck, the intermediate station “Novaya Liga” operates only on weekends for boarding passengers heading to Luzhniki, and the lower station “Luzhniki” is situated on the territory of the sports complex.

Cable car specifications

  • Travel time: 7 to 10 minutes
  • Height above the Moskva River level: up to 35 meters
  • Elevation difference between stations: 60 meters
  • Total number of cabins: 33 standard and 2 premium
The equipment was manufactured by the Swiss company Bartholet Maschinenbau AG, known for its innovative solutions in ropeway transportation. The futuristic cabin design was created by Porsche Design Studio — a division of the famous German car manufacturer.
