Museum and Park Complex "Victory"

Museum and Park Complex "Victory" is one of the most famous places for recreation and cultural leisure in Minsk. It is located in the Central District of the city and covers an area of 200 hectares, making it the largest park in the Belarusian capital. The park was opened in 1945 in honor of the victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War, and since then, its significance as a historical and cultural site has only grown. At the center of the complex is the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, whose new building was opened on July 2, 2014. The museum, which occupies an area of more than 15,000 square meters, offers visitors an extensive exhibition dedicated to various stages of the war. Unique exhibits are presented here, such as homemade weapons of Belarusian partisans and other artifacts that have no analogs in the world. One of the most impressive halls is the installation, which can only be entered through "flames," symbolizing the memory of the burned Belarusian villages. Victory Park is also known for its modern sports grounds, well-maintained embankments, and picturesque alleys. From 2008 to 2011, a large-scale reconstruction took place, during which walking zones, bridges, and other infrastructure were updated. For active recreation enthusiasts, there are bike paths, and rental points for bicycles and electric scooters are available. In addition, during the warm season, a boat cruises along Komsomolskoye Lake, which is very popular among park visitors. Among the park's attractions is Bird Island, which can be accessed via a pedestrian bridge, as well as open-air sports halls where you can exercise outdoors. Museum and Park Complex "Victory" is a popular place for both peaceful relaxation and active sports.
