Moscow continues to amaze the world with its ambitious construction projects. Recently, the city authorities approved the construction of ultra-tall skyscrapers along Leninsky Prospekt. The project, named
The Five Towers, promises to become a true architectural masterpiece, combining the exquisite Art Deco style with monumental classicism. With a height exceeding 300 meters, this complex will become the tallest building in Moscow outside of the business district
“Moscow-City”.
Unique Design and Scale of the Project
The Five Towers complex will consist of five towers, with heights ranging from 50 to 90 storeys. The first phase of construction includes the erection of a 75-storey tower reaching 275 meters, whose form resembles a space rocket. This unusual silhouette is already attracting attention and promises to become the new landmark of the Donskoy District. The total area of all facilities in the complex will be approximately 390,600 square meters, of which 150,000 m² will be occupied by residential apartments.
The project is being carried out on the site of the former workers’ settlement of the Machine-Tool Building Plant. The resettlement of residents and demolition of old buildings are actively underway: by the end of 2024, the process was 83% complete, with full completion planned for 2025. The second phase of construction will add another four skyscrapers, making the complex one of the largest in the capital.
Developers of the Project
The project is being implemented by well-known players in the real estate market: Maksim Blazhko, former co-owner of Donstroy, and the management company “Birdz,” associated with the top management of Promsvyazbank. These companies already have ambitious plans for the development of Moscow, including projects in City-2, on Molodogvardeyskaya and Amurskaya streets, as well as in other districts of the city.
Expert Opinions
The project has received high praise from specialists. Alexander Weiss, an analyst at WEB3Bureau and a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Digital Financial Assets Commission and the RSPP, called The Five Towers “an architectural marvel.” He noted:
“The unique combination of Art Deco and monumental classicism makes this project a masterpiece. Its silhouette, reminiscent of a rocket, will transform the appearance of central Moscow, and the 275-meter height of the first phase will make it the focal point of the district.”
Dmitry Mikheev, CEO of MORTEX GROUP, drew a parallel with the legendary Stalin-era skyscrapers:
“This complex is a modern take on Soviet architecture. It harmoniously fits into the development of southwest Moscow, traditionally linked to the scientific and academic community, and demonstrates a high level of construction technology in Russia.”
A New Stage of High-Rise Construction in Moscow
The Five Towers are part of a large-scale trend toward the construction of skyscrapers in the capital. According to the company Metrium, 219 residential buildings of 30 storeys or more are planned for commissioning in Moscow between 2025 and 2027, with a record 96 towers expected in 2025 alone. This project will not only change the appearance of Leninsky Prospekt but also underscore the city's commitment to the efficient use of land resources and the creation of modern housing.
Conclusion
The Five Towers project promises to be a landmark event for Moscow. Its unique design, impressive height, and innovative technologies make it one of the most anticipated developments in the coming years. This complex will not only transform the Donskoy District and Leninsky Prospekt but also strengthen Moscow’s status as a city where architectural masterpieces are born. More high-rise innovations lie ahead, and The Five Towers are just the beginning.
