In Minsk, near the residential complex “Duna” at the intersection of Chyurlionis Street and Dzerzhinsky Avenue, stands a bright illuminated sculpture of a bison — a symbol of Belarus, installed in 2018. This massive figure quickly became a city landmark. Built on a durable metal frame from aluminum, the sculpture represents a monumental bison that is illuminated from within by numerous yellow LEDs as darkness falls. This lighting accentuates the animal’s power and grandeur, giving it a lively and expressive appearance.
The LED bison on Dzerzhinsky Avenue attracts not only locals but also tourists, becoming a popular spot for photos and gatherings. Its location between the Petrovshchina and Malinovka metro stations makes it easily accessible, with convenient parking spaces nearby. In the evening, when the LEDs light up the sculpture, it creates the impression of a true glowing giant, symbolizing the hardworking spirit and natural strength of Belarus.
This light installation, created by the state-owned “Mingorsvet” enterprise, was gifted to the city and remains a vibrant feature of the urban landscape, delighting passersby and motorists alike every day.
